Human Rights Lawyer and GEEW Specialist

Helin Herlbauer is a passionate human rights lawyer with expertise in gender equality and the empowerment of women (GEEW). She currently works as a Gender Specialist at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), where she works on gender mainstreaming into UNOV/UNODC-mandated areas including organized crime, terrorism, and corruption by working for and with UN Member States.

Helin has a robust background, having worked with top-tier Legal 500-ranked law firms where she published on critical aspects of European law-related matters. Motivated by her commitment to social justice, she later founded her own legal practice, providing pro bono support to victims of police brutality and gender-based violence (GBV).

As a Fellow of the Salzburg Global Seminar, Helin is recognized for her expertise in advancing human rights on a global scale. She also dedicates her time to volunteering at a shelter that houses victims of gender-based violence. Helin holds an LL.B. degree and is a member of the Istanbul Bar Association.
