3 Reasons to Attend Diversify Nordics Summit

We are navigating a global landscape where Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) are no longer just buzzwords but critical components of corporate success.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) has become a critical driver of success for companies all around the globe. However, it all starts from the leadership team. Fostering open conversations, and bridging the gap between the theory and practice is fundamental. At Diversify Nordics Summit (DNS) we provide this unique space to broaden diverse leaders’ knowledge about why it is important to not only talk about diversity at work, but to incorporate DEIB practices in business and therefore in societies.

1.- Develop Awareness

“Diversity and Inclusion are not synonyms, I think of them as sisters and not twins” – Chisom Udeze.

There is a tendency to understand Diversity and Inclusion as a representation of diverse people with different demographic identifiers. The ultimate goal, however, isn’t solely assembling a diverse group. It is also about embracing an equitable strategy to establish a workspace that fosters inclusivity and a sense of belonging. Focusing not only on good intentions but also on execution and commitment.

2.- Network with like-minded experts

DNS is a meeting place for DEIB enthusiasts, practitioners and advocates, industry leaders, and managers across all departments from all around the Nordics, as well as Europe and North America. The aim is to share their work experiences and discuss themes related to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging, which are not only relevant to fostering an inclusive workplace and society, but also relatable and applicable.

3. – Position Your Company for Success

“Ethically and culturally diverse organizations tend to outperform their competitors by an average of 35%” – McKinsey & Co.

If the leadership team does not truly understand and value diversity, it will be harder to set DEIB initiatives into motion. Gaining knowledge about inclusive language in the workplace,  for example, will positively impact the company culture, breaking down barriers and building trust.

Make sure everyone reaches the apple tree

Now more than ever, it’s crucial for companies to acknowledge that their employees require diverse elements to flourish. Each individual has different needs and limitations. Equity helps companies give everyone a fair chance at success by providing the right opportunities to each person.
